How District Quotas Work
Population in, bikes out
Petrol bike quotas follow the 2023 census: each district's share of Punjab's population sets its share of the bikes, and only Punjab-domiciled applicants compete within it. Electric bikes follow campuses instead — the five Phase 1 cities — because charging infrastructure, not domicile, is the binding constraint. The teacher scheme ignores geography entirely: educators in every tehsil apply on identical terms, with rural postings earning priority.

Which districts are included in the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme?
In Phase 2, all 36 districts of Punjab are included. Phase 1 was limited to five cities — Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur — and electric bikes remain concentrated in those urban centres where charging infrastructure exists.
How is the quota decided for my district?
Petrol bike quotas are distributed district-wise among Punjab-domiciled applicants in proportion to each district's population under the 2023 census. Bigger districts get bigger allocations — and more competition. Your domicile district, not your campus city, determines which quota pool you enter for petrol bikes.
Can I apply from a small district, or is it only worth it in big cities?
Apply regardless. Every district has a guaranteed proportional share, and smaller districts often see fewer applicants per allocated bike — which can mean better odds in the computerized draw than the crowded Lahore or Faisalabad pools.
My campus is in a different district than my domicile. Which counts?
For petrol bikes, your domicile district sets your quota pool. For electric bikes, what matters is the city where your campus is physically located — the Phase 1 e-bike cities being Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur.
