Launched in April 2026, the Punjab Teachers Foundation E-Bike Scheme is a separate program with its own portal, its own subsidy structure and no city restriction — built around the teachers whose commutes are longest and hardest.

Why It Exists

Built for the 30-kilometre commute

A teacher posted 20 or 30 kilometres from home — common across rural Punjab — can spend PKR 7,000 to 10,000 a month just reaching the classroom, on wagons that run when they please. That cost falls hardest on female teachers and on those in remote tehsils, which is exactly who the scheme's draw prioritizes.

The financial shape differs from the student plan: instead of the flat PKR 20,000 down-payment contribution, teachers receive a 30–40% subsidy on the bike's cost, with the government paying the full markup and installments running PKR 3,600–4,200 over two to three years. Application Walkthrough

Seven steps on ptf.punjab.gov.pk

  1. Complete your PTF profile

    Registration on the Punjab Teachers Foundation is the gateway — finish your foundation profile at ptf.punjab.gov.pk before starting the bike application.

  2. Open the e-bike registration

    Sign in and select the E-Bike Scheme application. Use a mobile number registered against your own CNIC — the OTP goes there.

  3. Enter your service details

    School name, district, designation (PST/Elementary/EST/General), PESS number and years of service. These are cross-checked with the School Education Department.

  4. Upload clear documents

    CNIC, service certificate, motorcycle licence or learner's permit, latest salary slip, and a white-background photo. Blurry scans are the top rejection cause.

  5. Choose your e-bike model

    Pick from the approved catalogue on the portal — outside models don't qualify. Review the model options before you start.

  6. Submit and save the slip

    Review everything, submit, and download the acknowledgment slip — it is your proof of application and your reference for every follow-up.

  7. Await verification and the draw

    PTF and BOP verify your service and documents; eligible teachers enter the weighted draw. Results arrive by SMS and email.

Which teachers are eligible for the PTF e-bike scheme?

Government school teachers serving under the School Education Department of Punjab — permanent and contract alike — in the PST, Elementary, EST and General cadres, up to age 55, actively serving, registered with the Punjab Teachers Foundation, holding a motorcycle licence or learner's permit, and not having received a vehicle under any previous government scheme.

Are private school teachers eligible?

No. The scheme is exclusively for government teachers under SED Punjab. Private school, madrassah and NGO educators fall outside it — though a family member in another eligible category (student, or BPS 1–16 government employee) may still bring a bike into the household.

What do teachers actually pay?

The government subsidizes 30–40% of the bike's cost and pays the full markup, leaving installments of roughly PKR 3,600–4,200 per month over two to three years at zero interest. A one-year service warranty is included. Worked example: on a PKR 200,000 e-bike with a 35% subsidy, the government pays PKR 70,000 and you repay PKR 130,000 at about PKR 3,600/month over 36 months.

Who gets priority in the teacher draw?

Female teachers and teachers posted in rural or remote areas receive weighted priority in the selection — the groups facing the hardest commutes with the least transport. Priority improves odds; it doesn't guarantee selection.

Is there a city or district restriction for teachers?

No — unlike the student track's e-bike city rules, the teacher scheme covers every district and tehsil of Punjab on identical terms. A teacher in remote Rajanpur applies exactly like one in central Lahore, and the rural posting earns priority.

How many teachers will get bikes?

The first round covers 5,000 teachers, with more than 10,000 additional planned in later phases. The program launched in April 2026 under the Chief Minister and the Education Minister.
