What is the actual price of a government scheme e-bike in Pakistan?
After the PAVE Rs 80,000 subsidy, EDB-approved e-bikes typically cost PKR 80,000–160,000 depending on battery size and brand. Under the CM Punjab scheme, the effective upfront cost is reduced further by a PKR 20,000 down-payment contribution and 0% interest financing — so a PKR 120,000 bike could have a down payment of around PKR 16,000 and monthly installments of PKR 4,000 for 24 months.
Does the Rs 80,000 PAVE subsidy apply to every e-bike brand?
No. Only EDB-certified electric motorcycles and bikes on the official approved list qualify for the PAVE subsidy. An e-bike not on the list does not receive the discount regardless of where you buy it. Check the current approved model list at pave.gov.pk before deciding on a model.
What happens if I cannot afford the down payment?
For government federal employees in BPS 1–16, the PAVE minimum down payment is only Rs 10,000 with the balance recovered from salary. For the CM Punjab scheme, the PKR 20,000 government contribution reduces your effective down payment. There is no down-payment waiver outside these categories — you must pay the minimum to complete the purchase.
