  1. Phase 2 application deadline confirmed: October 4, 2026 — apply now at bikes.punjab.gov.pk

    The Punjab government has confirmed October 4, 2026 as the final deadline for Phase 2 applications. 100,000 electric scooties are available for students from public and private institutions across all 36 districts of Punjab. Minimum age is 16. Applications are free at bikes.punjab.gov.pk — no agent, no fee, no down payment. After the deadline, PITB will verify applications and run a computerised ballot.

  2. Applications for CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme Phase 2 open — 100,000 scooties for students

    The official application portal at bikes.punjab.gov.pk opened for Phase 2. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced 100,000 electric scooties for students across Punjab at PKR 199,000 with PKR 90,000 government subsidy, resulting in approximately Rs 3,027 per month over 3 years at 0% interest. The scheme covers all districts of Punjab including remote areas. Eligible students must be at least 16 years old with a valid driving permit and a parent as guarantor.

  3. Phase 2 lowers minimum age to 16 and accepts juvenile driving permits

    A major change in Phase 2 compared to Phase 1: the minimum applicant age drops from 18 to 16 years. Students aged 16–17 can now use a juvenile driving permit instead of a full licence. Private school and college students are also eligible for the first time — Phase 1 was limited to government institutions. Each selected student receives a helmet, safety rods, and 2-day mandatory riding training at no cost.

    The Punjab government confirmed the Phase 2 financing structure through Bank of Punjab: the bike costs PKR 199,000 of which the government pays PKR 90,000 as direct subsidy. Students finance the remaining PKR 109,000 over 36 months at 0% interest — the government pays all bank markup. Monthly payment is approximately Rs 3,027. First installment is due 30 days after collecting the bike. Insurance, registration, and first-year token tax are also covered by the government.

  5. Government employees (BPS 1–16) approved for interest-free e-bikes

    The Prime Minister approved electric bikes on installments for federal employees up to BPS-16 under the PAVE framework, while the CM Punjab scheme runs a parallel provincial track. Installments will deduct directly from salary; portal and dates are awaited — prepare the departmental service certificate and NOC now.

  6. PTF Teacher E-Bike Scheme launches — 5,000 educators in round one

    The Punjab Teachers Foundation scheme opened at ptf.punjab.gov.pk for SED government school teachers, permanent and contract, up to age 55. The plan carries a 30–40% subsidy, PKR 3,600–4,200 installments, and priority weighting for female and rural teachers. Later phases target 10,000+ more.

  7. Phase 2 confirmed for all 36 districts with a PKR 2.6 billion subsidy

    The scheme's second phase expands from the original five cities to every district of Punjab, adds scooties for female students, and raises the subsidy envelope to PKR 2.6 billion. Petrol quotas distribute district-wise on 2023 census population.

  8. Phase 2 student registration window closes

    The student application deadline passed with the portal reporting heavy application volumes. Verified applications that missed selection carry forward into subsequent draws automatically; the next student window will be announced on bikes.punjab.gov.pk.

  9. Phase 1 bike-choice change deadline passes

    Applicants' selected models locked in as Phase 1 processing moved to verification and balloting. Phase 1 ultimately distributed 20,000 bikes — 19,000 petrol (11,676 male / 7,324 female, district-wise) and the first electric allocation across the five launch cities — backed by roughly PKR 1 billion in subsidy.
