Installment FAQs

Phase 2 payment plan questions — answered

What is the monthly installment for Phase 2?

The monthly installment is approximately Rs 3,027 per month for 36 months (3 years). This is based on PKR 109,000 (PKR 199,000 bike price minus PKR 90,000 government subsidy) divided over 36 months at 0% interest. The government pays all interest — students pay only the principal.

Is there a down payment for Phase 2?

No. Phase 2 has zero down payment. You do not pay anything upfront. The government covers the PKR 90,000 subsidy and all interest. The first monthly installment is due 30 days after you collect the bike from the dealer.

What happens if I miss a Phase 2 installment?

Missed installments may attract a late payment penalty and are reported to eCIB (Credit Information Bureau). Multiple missed payments can result in the Bank of Punjab recovering the bike. If you are facing financial difficulty, contact your BOP branch early to discuss a payment plan.

Can I pay Phase 2 installments early or pay off the full loan early?

Yes. You can pay additional installments in advance or repay the full remaining loan amount early at any Bank of Punjab branch. There is no early repayment penalty. Early repayment reduces the total number of monthly payments.

Does Phase 2 have any interest or hidden charges?

The interest rate to students is 0% — the Punjab government pays the full markup to Bank of Punjab on your behalf. There are no hidden charges. Insurance, registration, and first-year token tax are also paid by the government. The only cost to you is the monthly installment of ~Rs 3,027.
