Step 4
The PITB ballot — how winners are selected
When total applications exceed the 125,000 available bikes, PITB (Punjab Information Technology Board) runs a computerised e-ballot — a random digital draw from verified applicants.
How selection works
- 100% computerised — no human discretion
- Random draw from verified applicants only
- Priority quotas for women, rural and low-income students
- Results announced via SMS and portal
What you cannot do
- Pay to influence the ballot (it is automatic)
- Submit multiple applications with one CNIC
- Apply on behalf of someone else
- Use an agent to 'guarantee' selection
Not selected this round? You stay in the database for future phases — you do not need to reapply from scratch.
Steps 5–8
After the ballot — Bank of Punjab, collection and payment
Bank of Punjab verification (Step 5)
SMS notification says 'Approved'. Visit your nearest Bank of Punjab branch within 14 days with original documents. Sign the loan agreement. BOP sets up the Rs 3,000/month auto-deduction from your account.
Collect your bike from authorised dealer (Step 6)
BOP sends you a dealer and collection slot. Take your approval letter and CNIC. You receive: the e-bike, a free full-face helmet, a rear safety rod, registration documents. Inspection the bike before signing the collection receipt.
2-day riding safety training (Step 7)
Mandatory for all scheme recipients. Arranged by Punjab Transport Department — your collection letter includes training dates and venue. First-time riders especially benefit. Skipping training can void insurance coverage.
Monthly payments — Rs 3,000 for 24 months (Step 8)
EMI is auto-deducted from your Bank of Punjab account each month. Keep the account funded before the deduction date. After 24 months and full repayment, the bike is fully yours — loan closed, no further payments.

Punjab e-bike scheme 2026 — top questions
Who launched the Punjab e-bike scheme?
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the scheme. The September 2026 phase was approved at a high-level meeting on September 2, 2026, with applications opening September 4, 2026. Bank of Punjab handles the loan, PITB manages the ballot and portal (bikes.punjab.gov.pk), and the Punjab Transport Department oversees delivery.
Is the Punjab e-bike scheme a loan or a free bike?
It is a subsidised loan — not a free bike. You receive the bike immediately and repay approximately Rs 3,000/month for 24 months (total ~Rs 72,000). The Punjab Government pays all markup (interest) on the loan, so you pay only the principal. The scheme reduces the bike's effective cost by PKR 80,000–120,000 compared to buying without the scheme.
What if I miss a monthly installment?
Missing installments on the Punjab e-bike loan affects your credit record with the Bank of Punjab and can result in the loan being recalled. If you anticipate difficulty paying, contact Bank of Punjab before missing a payment — they may arrange a short deferment. The bike remains your property as long as you stay current on payments.
Can I sell the bike before paying off the loan?
No. The bike is registered under the scheme and legally cannot be sold, transferred, or used as collateral until the full loan is repaid. Attempting to sell the bike before loan closure is a breach of the scheme terms and can result in the full outstanding amount being called in immediately.
